Tire Pressure Sensors

You gotta be kidding me?! I called up Laguna Smart Dealer and its $101.23 per sensor. Wow...Talk about expensive, that costs more than the tires that your mounting on the rims.

Can any of you guys in the other states confirm that pricing?

Don't know about smart center Portland, but Tire Rack is around $126 per sensor!

I think the smart uses the standard Mercedes pressure sensor (can someone confirm). That's a Beru unit. Think mail order has it for ~$91. It is what it costs, has nothing to do with the smart. I'd say $101.23 is an excellent price from your smart dealer.

There ought to be a law

see what happens when people are too lazy to check the air in there tires and start suing big companies... an average of $800.00 per vehicle sold in the US. Almost as stupid as building a wall on our border...

Someone swapped out their rims and removed the sensors. They are made by Shrader Electronics.

I think in this case it was intended to make buyer more comfortable about not having a spare tire, but I do agree people are too lazy.

Thanks for that link. When I changed my rims I bought new seals and nuts, but reused the cores and caps, hard to find these locally and not sure why we have to replace the caps. The nuts I bought were from Tire Rack in Mitsui bags and I went to seveal of their car dealerships as well as Mercedes dealers - not stocked. Great to have instructions, but hard when not able to easily get the parts they recommend.
