Tire Pressures

My TPMS light came on, so I checked all the tires. They were all three pounds below smart's recommended pressures, probably because I last filled them on a much hotter day.
I normally keep my tires a ways above the manufacturer recommendations, but because of the smart's (I think reasonably minor) windy day stability issues, and the fact Daimler bothered to go with different sizes front and rear, I had decided to keep these spot-on. For the first several thousands miles I did so.
Anyway, my point is that I had been thinking the car has been driving better lately. (I didn't know the tires were a tad low.) I figured I had finally driven it enough that I was smooth with the tranny, and was compensating for the sometimes harsh suspension unconsciously (more our awful roads' fault than the smart's).
Anybody else? Car seems smoother, handles bumps with more aplomb, handles just fine in all conditions, fuel economy seems stable.

I did a lot of experimentation and found 1-3 psi variations made a noticeable difference. I settled on 28 front and 37 rear, only +-1 from the recommended 29/36. Using 27 for the front felt best but was showing signs of slightly uneven wear.

im in eastern nc and we have been having some nights in the low 60 and highs in the 90 and my light has been coming on in the morning too, checked pressures and all good once i get a few miles down the road. i think with such small tires changes in temp make a larger impact in tire pressure. i might change over to no2
