Tire Rack out of smart winter tires

E-mailed them about lack of tires in stock sizes (I know other sizes have been used); got this reply: "I am sorry but we have sold out of snow tires in your size for the season."

The Blizzak LM-18 (arguably a better choice than the Winter 190 Snowcontrol anyway) is still listed as "In Stock" for sizes 145/65-15 and 175/55-15, which are ideal for mounting on the stock wheels. If you still need winter tires, now might be a good time to order.

Mine are going on this weekend.

Got LM-18's and TPMS from TireRack and steel wheels from the dealer.
Will paint the wheels black and mount tires after semester is over. Any one know about aftermarket steel wheel center caps? I know about the Pure plastic center caps 26 euros for the set but I like something nicer. Machined aluminum maybe.

On their website last night they showed two options in stock for stock wheels. Pirelli and the Blizzak. I think I'd better order some up - she didn't handle so well last night in the 3 inches of snow we got. I hope the difference is dramatic.

Sorry, now they show unavailable again. Must have been a glitch -- or operator error last night --

I'll keep looking around.

Queenpdog: I think the dealer has Conti's in stock and in the stock sizes...Tire rack has other sizes available which will work fine ...(175-65-15) as long as you do all 4 (which you should do anyway). The difference is huge. I was having a blast in the snow last night with my new Nokians.

Did you put on your car? And what type? WRG2's or the Hakka's?

I have a set of centers for steel wheels. They are an upgrade the stock ones. They are black with the 'chicken'(Smart) emblem.

I bought them from Germany sight unseen, I don't think anyone in the US has them or knows about them. They are made exclusively for and only fit the pure steel wheels and I have alloys. They are brand new and weren't very expensive.

PM me your email address if you are interested and I will look up what I paid (I'm not looking for a profit). I'll take photos and send both price&Pics to you.
