Tires for Genius 15" wheels.

I've mounted the OEM 175/55-15 rear tires on my Genius front wheels, and a pair of 205/50-15 Goodyear Eagle GT-HR on the rear. This combo looks good and handles well.

When the time comes to replace these tires, I want to be ready to move up to some larger tires. Do any of you have larger tires mounted on 15" Genius rims? I'd like to find the set of staggered tires in the same brand.

I have genius 15 x 6.5 all around. I used Yokohama S-Drives,205/50 on the rear and 185/55 on the front. They are working great - excellent grip, quick steering, reduced cross wind effect, and improved ride compliance. A side benifit is that I've maintained the OEM stager front and rear, just added 30mm width on both ends.

Several people have used 195/50 on the front, but that strays from the OEM diameter, but the 185's just came available and will work on your 5.5 front rims.

I'm also using a full Brabus suspension kit - new springs and Bilstein shocks and struts. It's made a new car.

mismart -- Great info on the Yoko 185/55. That looks like the matched set I've been looking for, but they're SUMMER tires! I really need all-season.

So -- anyone know of an all season tire offered in both 185/55-15 and 205/50-15?

Or, what about a bit larger diameter set -- since my speedo reads about 6-7% fast, I could easily go to a taller tire if it didn't rub.

rolmeister -- since the tires are slightly different diameters, does the computer think you're having traction problems?

Hmmmm - the stock tires are different diameters. It can't make any difference since that is a stock Brabus setup IIRC.

And isn't your current setup of differing diameters??

No, they are actually very close -- likewise the Brabus setup. Run the numbers through one of the online tire size calculators. i like this one:

For now I have the all black genius 15s by 6.5 all around running the 175/55/15 OEM tires... its what the budget allowed for now but soon I'm getting more meat on those rims... so you guys say 195/50/15s will fit-not rub-work up front? I have OEM suspension and don't think I'll be stiffening that up. it's already too bouncy if anything I think the shocks need to be upgraded but not the springs stiffened....
