TPMS Sensor identification.

I have searched all "TPMS" posts, but still have the following;

I want to find a LOW cost aftermarket source of the wheel sensors for my 2008 Passion.

Tire rack offer an OE 433Mhz sensor for the 2008, which "they have not any news of units not working with Smarts" - low cost
Revolution supply offers Mercedes 315 Mhz (Schrader 0025409017), which I assume also work. - higher cost
Smart madness offer a set, with ID and product information removed.- little less than higher
Smart - No information - Very high cost

I understand from Schrader-bridgeport website ([Schrader USA - TPMS OEM part locator) that the sensor for the Smart (2008) Passion is 28214 and the service kit is 20016.
Schrader also crosses this number with Mercedes OE 004 542 15 18. (Schrader USA - Sensors)

Who is right, and do they all work?
Has anyone purchased from either Tire rack or from Revolution, and know for a fact that the supplied sensors work?
Do they come complete or do they need the service kit to allow them to be fitted?

My local Smart dealer is very protective of their "numbers" and refuses to help, unless I buy from them....

I hope you guys can shed some light on this.

Thx.

smart madness... $250/set, genuine smart part.

I think I may have seen them lower somewhere (CAN store?) but don't recall.

I purchased the sensors from tire rack last week. tire rack claims they are the same ones used by smart. I had them installed on two wheels, put the wheels on the car with no problems.

But how do you KNOW they work? Have you let some air out of one tire to check them? I would......just drop it a pound or two below minimum and see if the light comes on. If so, GREAT! If not, then not so great.

Just a thought.....
