TPMS Warning Light

I have a 2008 smart that I put snow tires on for the winter. I do not have or need TPMS on my winters, and would like to disable the TPMS warning. I know how to reset the function, but it will not turn out the light. Has anyone found an answer for this question.

Another member posted that the dealer turned theirs off for them. Personally, I just ignore mine during the winter.

I'd prefer the dealer kill option, but there is always the cheapie method. Place a piece of black electrical tape over the indicator until spring.

I never understood why lights on the driver information centers on modern cars bothered people so much.
The TPMS light is only one of many, and there is always some light being displayed - so why is this light so bothersome? - just let it be knowing that you replaced the tires with the sensors and everything is right with the world (or your car's tire pressures, anyway).
