TPS Warning Light

My Tire Pressure Sensor Warning Light came on this evening while driving. I checked the pressure in all tires and they were all perfect. I thought that upon restart, the TPS Light would go off, but it is still on.

Any suggestions?

Push the warning light button to reset it. Then keep an eye on tire pressure. Any changes in actual pressure, get to a tire shop or dealer. If the light comes on and the actual pressure is unchanged, call the dealer to check the TPS sensor.

TPS system

I am changing tires, I change my own and balance, and would like to know if anyone can tell me if I don't re-insert all the sensors, will the light stay on all the time? Will it know if they are all installed or if only one will keep the light off. I keep very close tabs on my air pressures and don't think I really need the tps system? Or maybe there is a fuse I can remove?

It needs all 4 inputs. So yes, it will stay on if you don't re-install. I believe it's fused to the infamous fuse 11. Removing that disables all the safety stuff. Not a good idea.

OR..............

IF you are dead set against the TPMS sensors................you could leave them out and just keep them all in the glove box

is it flashing or steady on? I'm not sure what "going off" means

Last edited by fastturb; 05-18-2010 at 08:43 PM. Reason: does going off mean not on????

Sometimes it just keeps flashing and sometimes it flashes for a while then stays on solid. Tire PSI is always good meaning even side to side and front(29-31) to rear.(36-38). Never had an issue with they till this month.
