Wellsmart Adapter Status/Check out these rims...

So I have been searching like mad for 112 X 5 adapters for my Smart and I am having a REAL hard time. I looked up WellSmart in the UK and sent them an email.

Their response was that they are still making the pattern/offset adapter for the car. My question is this:

1) Is the bolt pattern/offset different for the 450 versus the 451? My guess would be yes or they would have said that they were available.
2) Also has anyone found a maker for the adapters?

Finally what do you guys think of these Rims... They are Enkei OR52 16 X 7 in a 112 X 5 pattern with 35mm offset. If I do get the adapters I am putting these on my blue/black Smart Passion. Color is Anthracite with a silver lip.

i like the wheel, but why not go with a more 'common' adapter size, rather than the 112mm X 5?

you'll have a lot more wheel selection, both OE and aftermarket.

Unfortunately you can't just "pick" a bolt pattern to use. You have to use a 112mm bolt pattern, due to the fact that 1 lug bolt has to pass thru the wheel, and the adaptor, and thread into the hub.

Smartbillet used the same wheel PCD and offset.
If he would be kind enough to tell us the thickness of each spacer I will be able to tell you what adapters you need and where to get them.

I made mine about .400 thick, whick is actually a little too thick, but I was worried about the head of the 2 mounting bolts. I will someday face them down to .300 thickness which would be perfect.

Christ that sounds a bit thin.
0.4" is about 10mm and 0.3" is about 7mm.

Surely that isn't enough depth for the thread to hold a wheel on!
I think i'd consider a 50mm offset and thicker adapters.

The old 450 adapters were about 20mm and 50mm

Thanks for the info smartbillet. I recall asking you about them. I did write around and for some reason they price for these is coming in way too high or that they are still in the design phase.

Anyone know of any of dealers putting the adapters out?

Oops!! I screwed up. My adaptors are .700 thick. The .400 is the material left under the head of the attachment bolts after a .300 counterbore. Don't know what I was thinking, LOL.
