THANKS
Yokohama S-drive 195/40 front 225/35 rear. I've got 17''x7.5 front, 17"x9.5 rear rims. I would go with 8.5 on rear Tunershop told some one that Schmidt doesn't make 8.5s But if you go to Schmidt Revolution's site they list 8.5 ( got 9.5s so I can run the widest tire possible if I get to put in smartuki kit)

No rub anywhere could go quite a bit wider in the back, if you could find a tire that doesen't change overall diameter to much.

That a humongous 5.97% increase in diameter for the front wheels and 4.92% for the rear ones: your speedo will be way off!

Having the same size tire on all four corners appeals to me. The speedo can be adjusted.

This is a bit OT, but is the speedo pickup off the transmission?

Willy, didn't see your reply earlier. Obviously you are using some chart that shows tire sizes based on the casing numbers. THOSE ARE B.S. The facts are realized when tires are measured. The O.E. fronts on mine were larger diameter than the rears and the Michelins I installed were 4% larger than the O.E. rears.

And since most car manufacturers don't install accurate gauges I checked my speedo by GPS and odometer by going a minimum of 10 miles on interstates and doing it many times. Now I find the speedo is dead on and the odometer reads 5.6% low.

Thanks for posting the info on the 16" Schmidt rims. I have been trying to find those rims since the first day I saw a picture of them on a smart on this site. I contacted the site you had listed and they put me in touch with fog city proformance. I talked to the guys there and ordered them total price was 1350.00 which included shipping them to Fl. I also ordered the s drives from online tires. Both of them should be here this week. I can't wait to get them on the car and take it for a test drive. Thanks again for helping me get my dream rims for my baby.
