I have four rear rims on my smart and they have been there for a couple thousand HAPPY miles of better ride and handling. I had the silver powder coat stripped and had them matched in white powder paint to the body. Looks cool, hard to keep fronts clean from the brake dust and that won't be better until someone brings out ceramic pads, but with cleaners it does wash off.
But I have another more permanent problem. The Pilot I fill at has gas pumps that don't click off like most places and twice I have had gas run down the side of the car. It doesn't hurt the white plastic panels, but now it has stained the white on the rims. So for those of you paying to color matched in a light wheel color, watch the effects of gas, maybe even the silver ones.
