Any problems getting insurance?????

I was just informed by Geico that they would only offer Liability coverage for my future smart car. To quote...

"Please note that the quote is for liability coverages only since we do not write Comprehensive and Collision coverages on this type of vehicle."

I haven't yet contacted any other insurance companies but if they're all like Geico than I'm screwed. I can't afford to scoot around bare, I've gotta have full coverage!

All y'all that have picked up your smart, what's the scoop on YOUR insurance?

I got a quote from Mercury. It was only a few dollars different from what I'm paying on the 02 Jag x-type the smart will replace. I got a quote from Progressive and it was about 3 times more then Mercury. The Progressive rep said they did not have the smart in their database. Although, I've seen other posters on this site say they got quotes from Progressive.

Liberty Mutual, Daimler financial and Smart USA are partnering to offer "one stop shopping" for purchase, financing and insurance coverage. Luckily for me, Liberty Mutual is my insurance company. They just got the bulletin last Wednesday, so your local agent may need to be apprised of this information. There is a link to an article about it somewhere on this site (can't remember where). Check the insurance thread.

Here's the link to the article about Liberty Mutual. By the way, I got a quote for $681 full, including comprehensive, for the year. We've been with them for over 40 years, so that helps.

No problem for me at State Farm - they were able to plug it in and have it added in less than 10 minutes.
