DDE Update

I just wanted to share with everyone.

I just spoke with my dealer and they have a delivery date!

Here is my "time line":

Reserved on:
3/29/08 (#1549)

Configured on: (5 months from reserve date)
8/29/08

Delivery Date (dealer ETA): (3 months from config date)
11/29/08

(8 months total)

Not too much longer. The dealer did mention that it could arrive 2-3 days early or up to a week late, but it's rare they don't arrive on time...

#1 - good news!

#2 - still don't understand the DDE process. Some folks apparently have a date even before configuring; others have no date before or after configuring, until it magically shows up one day. And then the dates slide back and forth until...the car just shows up at the dealers weeks ahead of some of the estimates.

#3- tempted to just ignore the process as it doesn't seem to be a realistic predictor of delivery dates.

I think it depends on the dealer. Our dealer is on the east coast. So the only thing that might mess up the ETA is a ship delay. Probably why they have been able to project the date always withing a week at most. Then you have other dealers that have a dart board in the back room with dates on it...

I will check with my dealer here in CLT. Config 9-9-08. A 10 day difference, so will see if my date has moved up!!#1555. DDE Feb-09-Apr09. Hard to know how they project those new DDE's

Just check with the dealer here in Charlotte, nothing on the books!! Like you said it's a dart board.
