Delivery Date Estimator thread

My DDE shifted again - now saying September - November, from October to December; which is really odd considering I just configured last week. I've been told smart and smartUSA are trying to decrease the amount of time it takes from configure to delivery, but I'm not sure about putting September into the picture.

For quite some time, my DDE said August-October, then suddenly it changed to "we cannot estimate your delivery date at this time"...I found out that smart is in the process of reconfiguring "areas of dealer responsibility" and since a new dealer may be opening, it could affect my DDE. Has anyone else experienced this message and did it change back to a date fairly soon? By the way, I reserved June 2007, configured Feb. 2008.

Because the Cincinnati Smart Center has just opened and because my DDE is October '08 to January '09, I have been told by the SmartUSA 1-800 operator that my new Cabrio will be one of the first 09 Smarts to be delivered to Cincinnati. I could expect it be delivered in late November-early December! Of course, I do not want to get my hopes too high because of all of the stories I have read on this Forum. Any one else from Cincinnati/Dayton/Northern Kentucky area heard a similar story>

I reserved my Smart back in May of 2007. Did the config in December of 2007. Got a DDE of July 2007. Delivery was supposed to be in Riverside, CA. Heard a store was opening in Las Vegas and my location got changed to Las Vegas. My DDE has been steadily going backwards. Right now it is 08/08/2007. I have called to ask about when the LV store is going to open and all I get is generality (sometime between now and the end of the year) The phone center that I have called cannot give me any info and they do not answer their e-mail. Cannot get any answers other than they are trying. Disbelief is that their customer service has a lot to be desired.

i take it you really meant 2008? keep trying and hang in there. you're too close to give up now. remember, smartUSA is comprised of only 25 or so people........TWENTY FIVE. TOTAL. with looking at distributing about 30K smarts the first year here in the US, you can imagine how busy they must be. no excuse for poor customer service, but something to keep in mind.

MENSA42. You are right it is 2008. Guess I was getting my hackles up and got carried away. It is just a little frustrating. By the way, my DD has now moved to 08/14/2008. Just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser. Trying to keep the faith.
