Delivery email question

For those that have gotten their cars. Did you receive an email saying that your car was enroute to your dealer?

Like it had been shipped out of France and what not?

I got one that said it was on the boat, then one that said it was at the port, then one that said it will be here on day xx/xx/xx

Mine is due in right now on DEC 30th. So hoping I get an email around the end of this month.

I received no email, or phone calls til the car was sitting at the dealer. I called the dealer & smart periodically for status updates, but info was very sketchy up to the last month or so prior to delivery.

They should have your R1 and VIN from what I understand. Jordan is in today, give him a call.

Mine is supposibly going to be here around the middle of Nov 08. I called PSC and they gave me a vin number but that is all the info they have at this time. So hopefully I am about a week and a half away from getting my new smart!! No emails from anyone since the initial 90 day one from Smart USA then one the next day from PSC.

I just got an email from my dealer saying " Smart USA has released your information to us here at the dealership and at this time I’m reaching out to inform you that I will be handling the delivery of your smart car. As of right now your vehicle is in the Status B phase which means production of your car has begun. What we would like to do at this time is have you come down to the smart dealership for a full tutorial of the smart car, and to start going over some of the paper work. If you could contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss your feelings towards the purchase of the smart and any questions/hesitations you may have." Anybody else get a similar email?

I talked to my dealer today and he was telling me that I would take delivery in about a month. I happen to know my Smart is on the ship, Patriot, and is due in Baltimore on the 12th, and I'm near Philly. don't know why they are being so generous with the times but I just nod my head and agree with them. Really I'll get it when I get it, the car is almost here. The excitement is almost anti climactic, it is soooo very drawn out.

Main reason that I am asking is when my car is about 2 weeks out, I planned on going down to the credit union for my financing. They said max of 60 days, but, being that it is coming over on a ship. And Hurracanes do happen, and ships do sink. I don't want to have done the whole BS with money and find out my car is lost at sea. Knowing my luck. I have a date so that is what I am going on. Guess I stick to it. Thanks fo rall the input everyone.

I remembered getting an e-mail from smartusa saying my smart is 30 days out. The next day my sales consultant e-mailed me with the same info. A couple weeks later she called to inform me that my smart should be in within a week. A couple days later she called telling me my smart arrived. I went down there that night to check out my new smart. It was still all wrap up sitting nicely between a bunch of Mercedes in their garage. It was a sight to see my smart was only parked maybe 30 feet from two Mclaren SLR The funny thing was that she was actually more excited for me than I was excited for myself I had a lot going on with work during that time so I really didn't think too much about my smart car until after I took delivery two days later.
