Got another Orphan :)

Just received a call from the smart center of Knoxville. They had a Blue/Black Cab. that had been orphaned and asked if I would adopt. Yes was the answer. I pick it up Monday as that is the first opportunity I have to get away. We're excited. And as to the heading, my wife and I adopted two wonderful Chinese daughters. Although this "smart adoption" is exciting, I wouldn't trade either of them for all the smart cars in the world Oh, they are figuring out thier schedule to ride with daddy in the smart car. Hurry up Monday!

Thanks centerxtreme, After hearing that you were getting an orphane at the
smart center in Knoxville, I started thinking maybe I could too.

I called Laura Jetter on Tuesday but she was out till Thursday, so that's when she called back.

She said there were 45 in front of me on the orphan list, but most had special
requirements. So I told her what I would take and would not take, and on
Saturday she called and said she had a yellow/black pure w/air and wanted to know if I wanted it.

I pick it up on Wednesday.

Brad

Since I am waiting to get my car with a reservation number ending in 1173 from Knoxsville I would love to know why they are getting more orphans in Tn. and not the cars that they are supposed to be getting.

I am sure those are all cars they were supposed to get based on peoples reservations. They can't help it if people decide not to go through with the deal. At my dealership they had 4 orphans out of the first 18 cars.

Every time you see a load of cars arriving at your dealer you can figure around 20% of them are going to be orphans. So a truck load of 20 cars gets you 4 orphans more or less. Get in line if you want one. It worked for me.

Congrats to all adoptees! I also received an orphan by contacting the dealer and shortened my wait by probably a year. I love the car and it actually is more equipped than my original reservation.

Good deal Brad! This is just like the one I want. Alas, being in Mobile, with the nearest dealer in Birmingham and not even open yet, I still have a WHILE to wait. Glad for you, Man!!
