Bodypanel fresh up -standard/metallic $899/1099 plus labor.

My dealership is going to sponsor swap parties. Swap your panels with someone else. Keep them for a while, then swap again. Something they all ready do with Beverly Hills wives.

I got a email on the 11 from smart saying that my car was less than 30 days away. On Saturday I got an email from my sales person saying that my car is on its way to Bloomfield Hills.

I never did understand the swap game.. be it body parts or wives... but glad to see the cost of a full set is not what I was fearing... to get a full set from the UK or Germany was quoted at close to twice that with exchange rates and shipping involved... Now to drop my dealer a note and have a black set ready to pick up when I take delivery

Each day here I learn more and more good info..thanks all

Hey, Fred. You give as well as you receive. Many thanks for all your input!

Sharonlee et al. Just wanted to note here that Ashlee, my smart center Bloomfield rep, followed up the e-mail with not one, but two phone calls. I missed the first one, so she sent another e-mail and followed up with a second call. CUSTOMER SERVICE! It wasn't enough to leave a message. She really wanted to talk to a human being - me!

I think I'm going to like this kind of treatment!

I fell in love with the smart in Switzerland in late 1997, and have been e-mailing smart about once a year since then, to see if there were plans to bring it out in the US.

So, I've been on their e-mail list for several years, and have been watching the news.

But after 10 years of waiting, about 5 trips to Europe and inflicting my squeals and giggles upon my fellow travelers anytime a smart was spotted, my dreams are close to coming true.

I received the call from Kuni in Portland, who's handling calls for the Denver center until they're up-and-running. Mid-February is my target date.

Got my VIN, and crossreferenced it to a list posted on another forum. Turns out, Einstein arrived in Baltimore a month ago. Poor baby -- I hope he doesn't feel unwanted.....

He's starting out life as a metallic red cabrio with a silver tridion and being interior, but as soon as I can manage it, will give him a facelift to make him lime green with purple paw prints. Wheee!!!!!!!!
