If you reserved your smart in November, your dealer was more than correct. You will have to wait at least 6 moths from that date to configure your vehicle and then wait for it to be made and be delivered. Welcome to the back of the line, you might see a vehicle by year end but don't get your hopes up.

I got my call today from Tracy Gurnett Smart Center Chandler / Mercedes-Benz of Chandler... She stated when she open up the FEDEX package with the list I was the first on the list... YEPPEE!!! Tracy suppose to do a follow up with a e-mail today and then will give me a call next Wednesday to make arrangement for pick up.. since I'll be out of town looks like Jan. 20th will be my pick-up. My Smart car is state side in California now. My confirmation number is 7244111173.. My friend has 9081211175, she on the list but her car is still at the plant and is told she will get her's in about 45 day's.

Life is Good!!!

BTW she didn't have the VIN number so I could track it.

1173 and just got the call. West Covina says that my smart is one of the first of 27 cars that they receive next week. No VIN yet. Will call back with that and the out-the-door price.

i would say that there is zero chance that this is true. zero. do you really think they would allow their main guy to not be there during the most important week of this company. more than likely he is being protected from the inevitable onslaught of random people calling about their car.
