my story was a little like yours I didn't place my order with smartusa till the day the smart tour came into town back last october ,my confernation was1392,I got an email to configure the car on 2/1/08, it stated the my car would be available late in the second half of 08,my dealer wasn't even and still isnt open,I drove down to the dealer in sarasota ,about 50 miles away ,the salesman ,said "leave me your name/number" if we get anything in that turns into an orphan ,we will call,,later that day I remembered I didn't leave my cell phone ,so I emailed ,got a responce back 2 hours later that they had a car with the equipment I wanted other than the color, I wanted the bumble bee colors (yellow/black/black leather) ,the had one in (silver/silver/black leather) by the time I received the email the dealer was closed (saturday5pm) and the were closed on sunday,I called at 8am monday and said SOLD I'll take it,I LOVE my new smart car
