ADD:

Make the dealer Rep do a complete walk through with you, as if you know nothing about the car!

Lift the engine cover and check the oil!

Have them show you where the battery and tow hook are.

Remove the front panel and check the fluids. Replace panel!

It now looks like a new owner should insist that the dealer open up and check the whole shifter mechanism for not only lubrication, but now loose fasteners.

Full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, make sure it's dark, and that you're wearing sunglasses.

Thank you, after a (very) long day, I needed that. You get my vote for best post of the month!

Thanks all, this will be handy. I am printing a copy and taking it to the dealer with me in hopefully less than a week...

A few to consider adding:
  • Make sure all battery/grounding cables are properly tightened down.
  • Check the orientation of the motion sensor on factory alarm system option. (something like 20% are installed upside down...)
  • Cabrio: Check you can open and close trunk several (7ish) times in a row. Some have either a bad micro-switch, or spring mechanism.
