Production Day to Bremmerhaven?

If a car is scheduled to be produced on, let's say, day zero; how long do we expect it to be before WW in Bremmerhaven records receipt? The car needs to queue up at the factory, be loaded onto a train, travel about a day to northern Germany, and then eventually show up in the shipper's system. Do we have a notion of this time frame. Five days maybe?

Thanks. I don't think I missed this in the threads, but it is possible.

As far as I know (Smartville's media representative) cars are trucked to Bremerhaven. As for the time frame, your guess is pretty accurate: it's in no one's interest to have cars sitting in a parking lot.
Maybe an owner with the R11 (the exact manufacturing day) and a record of 2wglobal can post actual dates?

I think in my case it took four days, built (I believe) on the 21st and loaded onto the vessel on the 24th.
But, the cargo status history also indicates the car was "booked" on the 11th, so WW already knew about it almost 2 weeks prior to loading.

SmartCard and JPaul,

Did the VIN appear on the WW site at booking or loading? Approximately. I suspect loading. Things are changing I guess. In seven years living in that area, I hardly ever saw cars on a truck unless they were going to a dealer. But I admit to being dated. In more ways than one. I will post back with the length of the interval once I have something concrete. Thank you for your information.

I got my VIN the day after it was loaded, so I can't say!

My short experience with 2w is that they are about 1-2 days late in posting their moves.
In essence, your VIN should appear 1-2 days after your car was rolled-on. Yes, those ships are "Ro-Ro", or roll-on roll-off, where the cars are actually driven on board...
Once you've got your VIN on 2w, it'll show ETAs for the whole "voyage" line-by-line, the appropriate line turning red about 1-2 days after the ship has left that stop.
Wow... patience, it's almost here!

I said that I would follow up once I had something concrete.

This is at best anecdotal. Production occurred on 23 Jul and loading in Bremerhaven occurred on 29 July 2008. Subtracting the production day itself, this yields six days. Kinda, sorta.

If WW was accurate about the loading time, then the system was updated within 12 hours. There are numerous 'if' conditions, but the values match the folklore on the subject.

Ciao

Produced June 26
Loaded at Bremerhaven on July 3
Unloaded Baltimore July 17
Arrived smart Center Lincolnwood July 23
