This isn't too uncommon. My car was supposed to arrive on the 16th...almost two weeks ago now. But it got held up at customs supposedly.

Just be thankful that they gave you another date. I am just left waiting for the dealer to call me whenever the car does arrive. So I am sitting here in the dark. I'm just glad to know that I'll be getting it sometime soon.

Well that stinks! I hope you hear from your dealer soon. The last few weeks of waiting are the hardest IMO. Good luck!

When I called the dealer this morning they told me my delivery date has slipped again. The new date is now the 11th of December. I was tempted to ask her if we were still talking 2008. (That icon was for you, ForestAcademy!) They said the car is "on the water". I'm assuming the ship hasn't sunk along the way. She also told me she "thinks" this may be an accurate date. So this means the others were teasers? sigh That's ok. I keep telling myself it will all be worth it when I'm rolling down the road in my new Smart, right???

I've lived long enough that nothing would surprise me! Beer-guzzling crew, pirates, beer-guzzling pirates...nothing! As long as they don't spill any beer in my Smartie (and leave one for me in the glove box!)and they get it here on the 11th I'm happy.

It sounds like the wait is worth it, but 17 mos is a little ridiculous don't you think? The date keeps moving back. It started as Oct-Dec 2008 and now its up to Jan-Mar 2009. Did they do that just to charge to extra $400 for the 2009?
