When Comith the '09s?

I am a 25 JUN 07 reserver and watching my opening DDE increment daily (this morning 24 JUN), inexorably approaching the end date for ’08 smart production. JPaul’s info from smartville is that ’09 production will begin in mid-AUG, after the summer vacation time. So I now have to wonder if smartville will follow the 5 week vacation regimen (meaning they might knock-off in early JUL) and I get an additional month to sit and wait, and get one of the first ’09s. I think with the exception of the ticked off folks who reserved mid year 07 and still have not configured...you are probably going to fall into the "average camp" with a 365~390 day dwell time... I bet you get a 08 about 3 weeks after your reso anniversary

Hope so. I have tried my best to have someone who officially knows tell me what event the opening date of the DDE represents, or what circumstance changes it. Even calling smartUSA HQ gets a referal to the IB boileroom and their usless canned answers. Dunno why it has to be such a secret. In my case, with the daily day-at-a-time incrementation, it appears like there is an open-ended time out for something else going on.

I wouldn't feel bad about the date movement if I knew it was because they were holding back NA builds waiting to receive completely re-designed transmission shifters or something useful like that. Maybe they are waiting on the custom upholstry fabric I special ordered. Jus' kiddn'!
