We love our Smartie- have some paint issues on the add on different bottom part for different coloring-- which was an add on.
Normal. Car is in very high demand. Dealers are not allowed to mark them up without reason (no "Market Adjustment Value") so they mark them up by adding 'things'. So you are in the same boat as anyone who adopted an orphan. Welcome and hopefully you will like your car! Love to see a picture of these "add-ons".

Thanks-- that's what I figured.

Unfortunately, these cars are a pretty easy part-out. I'll simply take a bank check from my insurance carrier in the event mine is lifted.

I bought an orphan from the San Antonio dealership and the only add on they put was the VIN window etching. All dealerships here do that as a standard procedure. It was under $100 so it wasn't a big deal. I'm sure the dealership gets an insurance discount by doing that to all their cars on the lot. They did ask if I wanted LoJack installed for $695.

I too bought an orphan from smart center Englewood in New Jersey. The Brand Manager assured me that the $1395 LoJack price that I paid was below average price. Actually looked me right in the eye and said that it was below average price for this vehicle.

Lojack Cost = $1395.00
Window Etch = $399.00
$107.64 - Tax
**
$1901.64 - Total rip off

adds up to a very hefty price.
not so smart.

I can not believe how some dealers are ripping off buyers on orphans. I got mine in Virginia Beach. There were NO add-ons. The pure came in with a radio and red panels, neither of which was on the one I ordered, but it wasn't a problem. The dealer SUGGESTED added warrenties, but didn't push them. Maybe it's a Virginia thing. We've got 3 dealerships in the state and I've never heard of any problems.
