The BP on Rte 29 near Titusville

Yeah, ok, rather obscure title/post but here goes ...

I often stop at the BP on Rte 29 to get gas, as the prices are pretty low. The guy who works there tells me that he has 4 or 5 "regular" smarts that gas up there.

The thing is, when I do get gas there, I get really bad milage. At first I thought it was my imagination, or maybe I had done more city driving, but after the last two times, I'm pretty sure that the gas is watered down somehow or that the octane ratings are not as high as advertised.

So, anyone on here a patron of that station? Anyone have the same experiences?

I get premium at a Shell station in Hamilton NJ. I had used regular unleaded from other stations before switching to premium. I thought the premium would get better mpg but seems to be less. I will try other gas stations premium to see if it that station has no so good gas or the cause is some thing else. I might go back to regular unleaded gas to see if the mpg gets better.

I always get premium. The one or two times I got regular unleaded, I definitely saw the difference in my mileage. OTOH, the difference between regular unleaded and premium is now about 40 cents, instead of the 20 cents it used to be, so it may be more economical now to get regular unleaded.
