Regina,
My guess is that the price depends is diferent factors like how many cars, property, credit score etc. Nevertheless $1397 is crazzzzy
Sorry I can't help you with anyother insurance company.
Regards
Gus

Connelly, you'll always be #1 & eventually I'll be some number after that I'm just glad you all are test driving them for us

Thanks for the cost info. that $99 Doc fee sounds really good. I'll have to pay Phila/Pa taxes versus NJ so I'll check into what that will be.

I do a lot of PA Turnpike driving which would be similar to ACxpressway driving. Sounds just fine to me.

As for paddle shifting versus auto-mode, perhaps SCOA could start a thread for remedial help for all those like myself who have forever been in a automatic world. I would like to eventualy try out the paddles but don't want to mess the car up either

I drive a Ford Sport Trac so anything with more MPG then that is going to be a big improvement. Right now I don't plan to get rid of my truck but will use the Smart for the day 2 day commute. I need the truck for bad weather and hauling things around for the 2-3 days a year I do that

Please keep us posted. We are excited about any info especially when it's one of us. Thanks

24-42 mentioned he had a great technique for smooth shifting. Maybe now that the 451s are actually hitting the streets, this might be a good time to share.

Regina: You must be a young-un! I've been with Allstate all my life. I lived in Jersey for 19 years. No accidents for 15 years. No points or any kind of violation. I don't know your record but these are the things that decide your rate. I too have $500 ded. with complete coverage.

I don't know what to think. I've been driving since I was 19YO, have no accidents, no bad credit (have 719 score), own my own home (#3), lease my current car and have no debt to speak of. I'm not sure why that number came up so crazy. I live in a great little city at the beginning of the Jersey shore called Parlin. Maybe I'll call them to get a better quote. Thanks, Regina

Congrats Bob. It feels great to get to this point I know

Did the Smart communications say in May or early part of the year? Mine which I configured on Dec 21 said "We are pleased to inform you that we may be able to deliver your smart fortwo during the second half of 2008". I've been using the wait to save the money to pay for it

OK guys! We need to plan something for Springtime, Summertime & Holidaytime. Everyone is invited (with or without your smartie in tow and no matter where you hail from). So, I'll start a separate post under our NE Chapter. By the way, I hate knowing that all these smarties have been delivered and a lot of people don't know about our club. I think we should all talk to our Sales Staff to have them contact these folks to get the word out about SCOA. Thanks, Regina

Any time is fine to get together with the smart people!
I wonder how many cars have been delivered in NJ.
The Englewood manager told me that they delivered 6 cars till now.
What about the rest on NJ?
Regards
Gus

Gus...I don't have all the numbers but last Sat. my salesman said 3 people were coming in to take possession. Two were picked up the week before. That's only two days that I can account for.

Ali, my letter said the same thing but upon monitoring all our research about reservation/confirmation/delivery all data indicates aprox 90-120 till delivery. Time may very from area to area. I could be wrong but I prefer to believe this....if not that's ok too.
