How quick are they shipping, mine's on order. Looks like an interesting install, I'm anxious to have it running! Won't have it in place for our picnic at Mercer County Park!

Shipping was fast. I ordered it Saturday (Sept. 6th) and it arrived on Friday (Sept. 12th) -- 5 business days from British Columbia. Just in time for a Saturday installation.

Will probably be next week for me since BC is closer to you. It will give me time to prep everything for the install!

Thanks to all of you who have more confidence in my mechanical skills than I do!

While I still don't trust myself to do it, I have a neighbor who is infatuated with my car and is rather handy with his own, and he's agreed to do it for me (after I showed him this thread). So ... I'm off to order my CC.

There's not really much point since Area451's illustrated instructions provide ample clear photos that cover the whole process.

As I was reading this thread, I got to thinking...

Am I better off (from the US customer's point of view) shipping the product out within 24 hours (usually) of getting the order from BC? Or am I better off shipping once a week (say every Friday) and driving 2 hours to the border and shipping from within the US?

I guess it depends on when you order But if I ship from the US it probably only takes 1 to 4 days no matter where in the country you are. Shipping from here takes 4 days at the MINIMUM (Washington) and up to 2 weeks.

I don't mind driving if it means a weekly trip instead of daily. But then I foresee getting complaints from customers saying "I ordered X days ago and you still haven't shipped?!?!"

Just a thought.

ShoshTrvls (there has to be a story behind that name) - I'm glad you decided to give it a try! Otherwise, Smart Enuf has it bang on with the suggestion you take it to a car stereo/alarm shop instead of a mechanic. A mechanic can do it to, but probably not nearly as efficiently (exceptions exist obviously).

Cheers!

I won't even try to speak for everone here (good luck with that!) but from my perspective it is rare that I need an accessory for my car in a hurry. A repair part is a different matter, but even there, my smart is not my only ride. If I do need something right away, I'd pay extra for faster service.

As an aside, I did pay extra for overnight shipping one time. They told me the item was back ordered for 30 days. I asked about their taking my $$ to rush the shipment, they said they would overnight it to me when it comes in in 30 days. They didn't understand my frustration, but they did understand how to cancel the order!!
