Impromptu gathering in South Jersey

Hey all you south jersey smarties (or anyone else that wants to drive by)

Aside from my newfound addiction to this little car I have an addiction to vintage VWs. Our local club is doing their "dust off cruise" tomorrow morning and since I havent begun to dust off my VWs Im stopping by with the Smart. Many of the VW guys are very interested in seeing this car as it is much closer a predecessor to the bug than that abomination VW built.

So I'll be dropping by there to show off the smart, if anyone else local wants to join me come on out.

We also do a monthly cruise at the Dairy Queen on 42 in Turnersville. Details are on the site as well. First one of the year is next thursday.
The VW guys are very welcoming of us and its a very fun, low key club so do feel free to stop by whenever they have an event. For now I'll be there in my smart, later on I'll bring out my other toy ;)

Sorry we missed it. We were in DC area taking care of business Friday and Saturday. ANT BEE stayed home. 500 miles in two days would have been above and beyond the call for a smart.
I am a fan of VW's. Owned: '64 Beetle (my first new car), '66 Fastback,
'63 Deluxe Microbus (it almost went to Woodstock), '70 Vanagon (?),
'75 Scirocco. Does a '79 Porsche 924 count? It had lots of VW parts.
Did any other smarties show up at the VW Cruise-In? Please post the details about the Thursday night DQ Turnersville. We're about 15 miles from there.

It was just me at the cruise in but that's ok, I posted notice way too late.

DQ is thursdays starting at 6, as you noticed the details are on their website, I think its the 3rd thursday of each month. I told the VW club president I extended the invitation to smarts and he liked it. All the VW folks loved the little smart and the thursday events are really just hanging out so once it gets rolling you never know what will show up in the summer.

I'll be there around 6 but cant stay long, wife is out of town and will be coming home that night so I should get back to the house to greet her.

Jane and I are planning to go to Atlantic City Race Course to see the horsies run Thursday (4/24) 3:00 PM Post Time. We will swing by the Dairy Queen in Turnersville for the VW Club Cruise-In at 6-ish.

Just found out that admission is FREE at Atlantic City Race Course.

I think we are all in the "cant stay long boat today" I have to go pick my wife up at the airport so I will be just doing a quick drop by myself.

If Im not around when other smarties get there, by all means introduce yourselves to the VW guys. They are a great bunch.

And with a little more warning maybe we can all make the next cruise in May a little easier
