I dropped off a bank check today...along with my loan app. etc. Man, there are only a few fortwos sitting there surrounded by what seems to be hundreds of MBs. It's kind of intimidating. Keep your fingers crossed.

Hi Gang,
According to the results of our poll, Edison has been selected for the First NJ Meet & Greet. In addition, the majority of the people (6) suggested Saturday, 4/26 as the date.

I'm happy to report that the Edison Sales Manager, Leigh Farrell, has graciously agreed to host our 1st NJ Meet & Greet for the smart car owners.

At present, I am coordinating with the GM's secretary, Suzette Cox. Suzy can be reached at 732-549-6601 x159 and her email address is scox@raycatenaedison.com. Suzy has asked me to send her an email outlining what our NJ Chapter would like of the host center so I thought of the following and would appreciate your suggestions too. Thanks, Regina

Suggested Itinerary for our 1st NJ Meet & Greet on Saturday, April 26, 2008:
07:45 – 09:30 am: Breakfast at a nearby diner
10:00 - 12:30 pm: smart Center Edison

10:00 - 10:20 am: Meet Sales Staff, Sales Mgr & GM
10:20 - 10:45 am: Tour the smart Showroom
10:45 - 11:00 am: Drive over to the Service/Parts Building
11:00 - 11:45 am: Meet Service Mgr (Glenn) and his staff for a workshop on “How to care for your smart" or something like that.
11:45 - 12:15 pm: Meet Parts Mgr (Tommy) & his staff & see what they have to offer.
12:15 - 12:30 pm: Conclude our M&G & thank Edison for hosting & take pixs

I would like to ask Edison to contact all the new smart owners and invite them to the Meet & Greet. Also, ask them to provide light refreshments (for those who couldn't attend breakfast), brochures, and maybe handout a free gift for our attendees. Then have the staff available to pose for a group picture with our club and then a separate pix of the smart personnel. Of course, we'll take pixs of our cars too. Also, I would like to ask them for special parking so we can all park together (hopefully out front). Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

If anyone has any connections, maybe we can create our smart car - NJ Chapter's club sign which could say, "SCOA - NJ Chapter".

Great Itinerary, Regina!
Suggestion: Perhaps smart Edison can offer us a one-day-only discount on parts and accessories in stock. Quick oil changes? (for those who think the 10K mile interval is too long). Key chains? No harm in asking.
We will shoot for meeting you at smart Edison at 10 AM. From here in Vineland, we have about a 100 mile run, mostly on "sort of scenic US 206". Perhaps we will opt for the Super Slab. ANT BEE has her E-Z Pass.
I grew up in Somerset County and know the area well. But meeting for breakfast at 7:45 AM would have us up at Oh-Dark-Thirty.
The looming question: Will smartBob arrive in his yellow/black Pure? Fingers crossed for luck! You go, Bob!

I will most likely meet up at Edison due to the drive. Looks like a drive up the NJ Turnpike. As of right now I won't have my Smart so my big Ford Truck needs a parking spot too. I can protect the Smarties

The agenda sounds cool. Is the local driving close as I don't have a clue where I would be? Would we need to go back to the Smart center for the pics? If so we might want to do them before going over to the parts center.

The Bumblebee has turned into "Blackie" over the weekend. An all black "Pure" could be my new mode de transporte'. My bank check and credit app are there now......should know in a couple days. Looks good. _______________
