No tint in New Jersey?

I am just venting because I bought my 2008 when I lived in New York and paid for tinting at smart center and now I moved to north Jersey and can't get my inspection because of tinting? Its not even that dark. I hope to be successful at pulling it off myself. Wish me luck.

New Jersey government likes to regulate things. It is one of the reason we Jerseyian can not pump our own gas. The upside is that the full service gas prices are similar to other states self service gas prices.

I work for the state of New Jersey and there are some things that do not make sense.

If it's any consolation, my understanding is that you can keep the tint on the back and (tiny) rear window. (I wanted to have mine tinted until I found out the regulations and the significant fines that go along with violating them.)

In states where they pump their own gas, the physically challenged have to put up with quite a bit of being ignored. Personally I'd rather have everyone have someone pump their gas rather than sit there and be ignored for quite a length of time because they don't hire enough attendants, or else don't want to be bothered to pump gas at the unattended rate for the physically challenged, or else they simply don't like the weather.

win

Not worth it by a long shot. If you stay registered in NY but actually live in NJ, if you have an accident/mishap and your insurance company finds out where you really live they have grounds to deny your claim and void your policy. Or, so I'm told by a lawyer buddy.
