Ray Catena

Hi All

Today I took my smart for service at Ray Catena dealer.....
The service was outstanding far better that any MB/smart dealer in the Nj area.
Having experienced Englewood, Ray Catena is 10 times better!!!
I am trully happy
Gus

I plan on taking my smart back to them for service even though its 165 miles away and not the closest dealer. Just to lounge in the luxurious waiting room sipping free drinks and eating the danishes! Easily the nicest service center I've ever seen!

I agree just dropped my Smart off for its 10,000 mile check up and to fix the shifter (having a problem getting in back into park). They are really great to work and things were going well until I requested a loaner. I thought I should be able to get a Jag or a Porsche but they told me it would be a step down for me (yeah I made this up). Lucky I had a ride home.

I had my smarty towed there (last weekend 11/7/08, shifter problem) and when I asked for a loaner they told me that they dont have one for Smart owners and I could use their enterprise rate of 39.99 a day. Dont quote me on the exact price of the rate but basically if your a smart owner you dont get a loaner. You prob only get one if you actually do own a Porsche or Jag.

when you purchase your smart there, they have you sign an acknowledgment that they don't have loaners for smart service. no biggie for me. besides, like paroyboy says, the waiting area is great. it has food, a pool table, and wifi.

Got my Smart back today all cleaned, shifter fixed and serviced. Yes even the inside had that new car scent. I am a very happy smart owner.

Oh yeah the loaner thing was meant to be a joke. But if the Catena guys want to loan me a Maybach I wont turn them down.

So you where getting your shifter fixed as well? Mines still in the shop waiting for the part. (They said they would have it but then said they never received it) =( You would think that they would have more of these parts on hand since it seems to be a common problem among smarts. Nothing I cant complain about. I'll take this problem over something really serious.

Thank you guys for using our Service Center. If there are any improvements or suggestions that you guys can think of, please let me know.

As for the loaner situation. The reason why Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Lexus, Porsche, Jaguar, and our Aston Martin customers recieve loaners is because the manufacturer gives out incentives to the dealer for providing loaner service. For instance, with our Mercedes-Benz, the cost of the car that we pay to put it in loaner sevice is basically a wholesale price. Since we did not pay much for the car to begin with and it is ours to keep and sell after the loaner is retired, we sell it to make a marginal gain or break even. The real reward is to obviously have loaners for our customers.

With smart, there are no incentives, nor an abundance of smarts to even put in to loaner service. The profit margin for EACH smart is soo small, that each orphan must be sold to make the brand survive.

If any of you are visiting the Service Center for your next service and would like a tour of the facility, please speak with the Receptionists or Linda, The Greeter, and have them call me at the showroom. I will come down and give you a tour. It would be my pleasure!

You have NO idea what you've been missing. To eat a danish right next to the Aston Martin/Porsche service side is a biblical experience. Dont remember what danish I had but I do remember the cars.
