NeWave you should ask to see the parts diagram whenever you buy parts from the Smart Center. It shows many different parts and their numbers.

added part number for the screw that attaches the items to the accessory stalk. Funny thing is I ordered the little plastic caps that cover the screw head but they didn't come. It seems to be a mystery to everyone at Smart Center Buckhead as to how those should be ordered.

Thanks, Briansmart, for researching similar parts. I have an '06 that I worry about parts for. Was hoping there would be some cross over. You confirmed it.

You're welcome BeSmart. This forum has helped me a lot (as have Club Smart Ca and Evilution) so the least I can do is return the favor in my own way. I also thought that if I was having some difficulty (and after reading about others' here) I should do something about it. Hopefully it helps.

Also, don't discount some of the 451 owner-enthusiasts. At the Out Smarting the Dragon, the Canadians and I have made some converts it seems! A few are VERY interested in doing parts / mods for these cars too. So it seems we have a great group starting to form.

Can't edit the original post so I'm just going to add the parts list with a post I guess.

451's license plate lamp assembly
A 451 820 01 56

It comes with a regular 39mm festoon-style bulb. I of course have replaced that bulb with an LED light from Home - Your LED Shop.

The clips that hold the assembly in place are more sturdy on this one it seems. On the 450-specific part the clips snap every single time I try to change the bulb.

Taking the tail gate panel off makes it very easy to change bulbs and no breakage.
