Hey guys and gals,

We need a little assistance on this unit. While it is all plug and play we need someones assistance that owns a 450 and is willing to install a cruise control. We have installed a couple of these units in a 450, but did not put together an instruction manual at that time. The install was pretty simple and self explanatory (for someone who has basic mechanical knowledge) and we simply used the 451 manual for help.

So, here is my offer....

Purchase the unit from us and put together a detail installation manual for us. Upon getting a copy that we can use we will issue you a $50 refund for your time or $70 store credit (your choice).

The units are now in stock for quick delivery.

So does this work on the G&K converted cars that were imported to the US? I have a 2003 passion coupe, one of the first ZAP delivered that was converted by G&K to meet US DOT/EPA specs. I have been considering getting a cruise control for my 450, but have been hesitant due to it being iffy from the Canadian vendors as to whether it would work or not on the G&K cars.

Yes, it should work on your model.

Tom, I have the original MDC in my G&K smart. It works great and is very easy to install. I have installed three of these units. The unit is probably the same except the original is an open circuit board that I wrapped in foam and stuffed behind the consul. The new one looks better in it's own little plastic case. Does the new unit have the LED indicator light? I found a great place for the light on mine by drilling a small hole in the lower right snap mount pin on the speedometer bezel.

I can post pics but I am in Canada for a week and my smart is at home. Post any questions and I'll check the next camp site I'm in that has wifi.

We should have an Idaho get together and you can install others cruises!!!

Joking of course. well, mostly so. Let us know how the install goes. I might want to get one for one or both of our 450s.

Will these new units also be sent out to those waiting on a returned unit? I have a 2009 Coupe, and returned my (apparently) defective unit several weeks ago. As of this posting I have not received my replacement unit.

Terry, Smartmadness is referring to cruise controls for the 450 (the previous model of the ForTwo). I suggest calling Smart Madness at 562.961.6800 and giving them your original order number. I'm sure they will be able to help you further.
