This is what we are getting in the UK. I've seen it at the london motorshow and was very impressed with it. The interior looks funky, and the exterior is far better than the VW polo, Renault Clio or the Vauxhall/Opel Corsa. Its lighter than the old model despite being bigger and safer. UK press are raving about it! Auto express said if they could, they would give it 6 stars instead of 5. In the UK cars this size are very popular with every one regardless of age so its an important car for ford. I think they have got it right!

Without having seen it live, so to speak, I agree. Once it gets to the USA (sans diesel option) I believe it will take off here. I'll certainly be test driving one.

Why Fiesta

I don't get it. Why is Ford calling the new car a Fiesta? It looks nothing like the older ones. Could they not think of a new name? Or do you think they are trying to play off the fact that the original was so small and fuel eficiant?

If you look at the 6th picture (the of the car going through the building)... does it remind anyone else of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man? And I mean that in a good way.

I think you're right there should have been a name change. Like when the Escort in Europe became Focus to show how much better a car it was. I suppose the reason is that the Fiesta name in Europe at least, has been around so long that its easiier not to change it
