Another Chink in Toyota's Armor (New Prius)

Quote:
Toyota Motor Corp. has been hit by over 100 complaints in the U.S. and Japan about brake problems with the popular Prius hybrid, the latest in a spate of quality troubles for the automaker as it grapples with massive global recalls.
Quote:
The Prius driver in the accident told police that a brake did not work," Ota said. "Other Prius drivers also complained brakes were not so sharp." The complaints in Japan involve the new Prius model, and the vehicles were all made in Japan, he said.

The thing about a Toyota her lately and perhaps should/could be their new catchy jingle would be:

"Beyond driving.....your aiming"

Sure they're dealing with it NOW!

How many months did they deny there was even a problem with the accelerator pedal? If the Gov hadn't stepped in they would still be in denial IMO!

Whatever!

Toyota is not the company people thought is was anymore, its a company that has now lost sight of what made it so appealing so many years ago they are all money driven more than focusing on quality.

I have a freind who is a toyota mechanic and he saw this coming before the news started covering this. he has seen more toyotas breaking down latley than in all his 15 years as a toyota mechanic. and he sais the customers are starting to see the difference.

we can all say oh i had a toyota and it never gave me an issue, people can also say that about chrysler chevy and all sorts of other makes as well. now that the media is looking into Toyota you will see that they cover up their problems to save their image and their just as rotten as any otehr big buisness.!

oh yea lets not forget they say that lexus is not affected (well they may have included them by now) by the recall, to pertect their luxo image, but lets not forget the one story that started the storm of the famaly who died in california where their lexus was accelerating and not stopping and ended up crashng and bursting into flames.

sounds like the same problem affecting the others to me! as the more the media dives into this the more they uncover, like the lies, saying they where not aware of any deaths yet the story of the family diying in california had toyota saying they will look into the problem yet again.....things that make you say hmmmm.

Absolutely the best time to buy a Toyota if one of their cars fits a need. The dealers will be frantic to sell and the recall issues will be handled before the car can be sold.
