Bored of reservation number talk?

Reservation numbers may be exciting to you still waiting but people who have theres just want to talk smart. For those people who seriously want to mod their car (I'm not talking clip on or stick on mods, I mean proper mods) I suggest you take a look over at www.smartlegion.com.

If you have proper modding questions then ask on there. ONLY People who actually own a smart car need apply.

http://smartlegion.com/index.php works better for me. Is it the same place?

Not much activity. Is it new?

Yes, only a fortnight old. The aim is to keep general chit-chat low, keep the mind on modding and to help people help themselves.

Smart car ownership is essential, we don't want to be answering basic questions about where the engine is, how you remove the engine cover, mpg figures etc. This is for people who don't rush straight back to a garage when something goes wrong or something needs doing, a proper hands on forum.

Once I actually have mine I will request a registration, though not being a "mod-er." I very much disdain all the trite stuff and intertwined threads. I think I have been well-behaved on smartManiacs (Callsign_BULL).

Well... ummm I hear what you are saying and that a serious site is a great idea.

Do you realize that already your site has a poll "Opinions on the Eleanor smart car"? That just doesn't seem so serious to me. In my honest opinion, if you let most of "us" in there, "we" will ruin it with all our mindless fluff, hypercritical complaining, castigations, and / or ....

I must say, what you have provided to us here has been INVALUABLE and I for one appreciate what you have offered freely. Thank you very much! Seriously, thank you.

Good luck with the new venture!!!!

It's not mine. Nothing to do with me.
The problem is that smart owners are very different people, they all have different interests. Every day I trawl through 10 pages of posts trying to find information and people to help but at the moment it is a lot of the same thing.
MPG, reservations, 10 people posting the crash test stuff, people asking the same questions that were answered yesterday. Can I flat tow, I have cancelled my reservation, the DDE has made me sad, etc.

That's why SmartLegion was started, it aims to get all the like minded people together. If you aren't interested in modding or doing your own garage work, there is little reason to sign up as you won't find anything there of interest.

It's not a case of "if we let you in", it isn't an elite group, if you think you need to sign up or you think you don't, you are probably right. We are just trying to get the like-minded people in one place as having so many areas in 1 forum makes it hard to use and is the reason I stopped going to CSC.

Eventually the reservation talk and mpg stuff will die down and when the real questions start up, the people who signed up to SmartLegion will be able to come here and help. See it as a training forum for the next wave of smart modders and fixers. Eventually, this forum will benefit from the info.
