This is what i will be doing soon. A relative of mine has a 87 ford conversion van that he drives on occasions. It sits in the yard most of the time and is kinda rusty and bad cosmetic shape, but he has had it for 6 years and currently has insurance on it.
He has been trying to sell the van for about a year now for 700.00 bucks with no bites. He is not interested in purchasing a new or used car for that matter.
I told him what i wanted to do,i would pay him the 700.00 bucks he wanted.
Then i would be paying in cash for the car i want new. We will go into the dealer and be co-buyers. When the title comes back, we will take his name off the title.
We will have a signed notorized agreement before hand saying the car is mine basically.
I dont see how the government can stop this?
They would have to go back and adjust a qualification...stating that the buyer could not sell or gift..etc...the vehicle that the credit was used for.
If they did that, there would be so many lawsuits.
They would almost have to word the credit qualificaion, like they did the bailout for people taking help on there soon to be foreclosed homes "they have a fianancial stake"
wouldnt this be something?
We the high and mighty and gracious government gave you money to help buy this car,
but you cant sell it until a pre-determined ownership has takin place, or you have to pay back the 4500.00 before the title office will transfer a title. Or they might pro-rate it ..lol
I can see this opening a can of worms.....
I see this country changing before our very eye's....
