Chicago Auto Show 2010 Coverage on AutoGuide.com

The Chicago Auto Show might not have the media hype of such events as the Detroit, Frankfurt or Geneva shows, but with one of the largest venues and with the highest attendance, it's easily on of North America's premiere events on the automotive calendar.

Over the years it's become the venue for automakers to debut new trucks, SUVS and crossovers and 2010 is shaping up to be no different.

For 2010 the Chicago Auto Show promises such debuts as the 2011 Chevy Silverado Heavy Duty pickup truck, an EcoBoost Ford Edge and even a few updated trucks from Toyota.

Additional highlights include a concept version of Honda's upcoming next-generation Odyssey minivan as well as plug-in hybrid concept from Kia call the Ray. Nissan has also just announced that it will display in Chicago, with the premiere of the 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition sports car, as well as the new 2011 Infiniti M37 and M56.

Check out our complete 2010 Chicago Auto Show coverage here.

No media hype? I've read plenty of previews from a number of sites. Plus I believe the show is the third largest auto show in the world.

The Fiat 500, Chevy Volt, Chevy Cruze and the Mini Countryman are (among a few others) also debuting at the show.

Yeah, our Admin is VERY misinformed.

In fact the majority of vehicles will be family cars, alternative energy vehicles, hybrids, and concepts.

Although many of the alternative energy vehicles happen to be trucks.

Yes, it's the third largest in the world and the largest in America. It will be larger than last year's (in 09' they had to fill in the empty spaces with cars from the Volo Auto Museum - YOU HAVE TO GO THERE BTW, AWESOME PLACE - radio station booths, and Army stuff) and will feature even more manufacturers and cool cars than last year.

Beware though, if you plan on going public transport (which is sooo much easier than driving for me) the CTA and Metra had raised fares again.

And as far as media coverage goes, I see ads for the show 5+ times a day on almost ANY given station...

And local news, Faux News, and some others are gonna be all over it.

I will film the press conferences and post them here. And instead of making everything just one long video like last year, I'll divide it all up.
