Actually they said the Fiat deal was likely to be signed today. They filed for reorganization. They hold out hedge funds are just betting on getting a better "deal" from the judge than what they were offered by Chrysler... Of course that may backfire on them and they get a worse deal... never know when BK judges are involved.

I'm adding Chrysler and Pontiac to the list of soon to be collectible orphan brands.

A bit early on the trigger Jwight? Fiat/Chrysler merger is a done deal. GM and Ford got out of the minivan business beacause they couldn't make it against lowly Chrysler, and Jeep and Ram at are currently at the top of their game. The simple truth of all this is that people who actually need minivans, trucks, and SUV's will keep buying them. All the wannabes will adjust their buying habits to something a bit more realistic. That's what started this whole mess to begin with. The fickle buying public.....

I Ditched my minivan. Time to live more simply

Newest news.
Chrysler is shutting down all production next week. Restart is undertemined while they work out all the potential deals they need to make to keep their door open.

I sure wouldn't want to be a Chrysler line worker. Do you wait out the down time or start trying to beet the rush to any other jobs out their?

I recall when Chrysler was bailed out in the early eighties and it came back strong with Lee Iacocca. Pity he is not there now. I can see many chrysler dealerships closing shop soon.

I think Chrysler will be around in the future, but in a much different way then Daimler left them. It will take some time but they will eventually make it back to where they were in 1998. If not for Daimler we might still have the Cherokee, one of the greatest vechiles ever!

It is already known that quite a few dealers will not be around by the end of the summer.

When the Government states it will cover Chrysler's waranty, are they going to run the repair shops?
