No..and no. Well, sorta.
Last gen (aka Toyota bB vs current Gen Cube): cube is smaller (wheelbase and bumper to bumper), has available 3rd row seat, seats 6 (2 rows) or 8 (3 rows) vs 5 on the bB (1st gen xB). Cube is e-AWD, bB is FF only. Cube has smaller engine w/ less hp + weighs less = better MPGs. Current Cube is about the same wheelbase as a Mini Cooper.
Current Gen xB vs ??? : There's your problem, the Cube set for the US market is unknown to the public and will be so for the next 28 days until the LA Auto Show. Nissan has done a great job keeping their mouth shut and car under wraps. Yes, it will probably be bigger than the current gen car, and have a bigger engine, and as a result less MPGs .BUT it should most surely be smaller and lighter than the current xB and have a smaller engine than the current xB (2.4L used in the 4-cyl Camry), thus still have better MPGs. So far best predictions say expect it to be Versa-based..aka roughly same wheelbase, same 1.8L engine pumping 130hp and no e-AWD system...but we will se what happens in LA next month.
