Funny thing about the list I opened from the Feds. We have two P/U's ('88 and '89 Chevs) at work and they are on the list. However as we replace trucks now we buy diesel powered Chev's because we save over 20% on the fuel costs. Well low and behold, searching top to bottom there are NO diesel fueled vehicles on the clunker list that can be bought. Thanks again we take it in the pocketbook.
But... Aren't the vehicles you're replacing on that clunker list? The vehicles you're replacing them with will (and must) get better mileage and will specifically not be on the "clunker" side of the list.

On the federal site you enter what you have and then search for what kind of vehicle you want. I.E. a pickup. It then spits back the ones that are eligible. At least that was the way the program seemed to work earlier this week.
I have a '95 Honda Delsol with 41K on it, and I'll be buried in it. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Cool ass car. Can't wait to get my Smart. Seems like another cool addition for me.

That sould save some money on a coffin, But your going to have to purchase two plots.
My car has been registered to me for 4 years. In September of 2008 I was late paying my registration. I didn't pay it until November. Does this mean that I don't qualify as having it registered to me for at least one continuous year? Please help! Not even the department of motor vehicles is giving me consistent anwers and I need to know ASAP.
Since the program details haven't been completely wrung out (rung out?), you won't get a definitive answer from anyone. Watch cars.gove for the details as they unfold.
