It is pretty cute, but the picture shows the European model. Will the North American one look very much different?

I suspect the US Version will be sporting a few more airbags than in those Videos

Not sure how many more you need. It had two front airbags, looked like two knee bags, curtain airbags and thorax airbags. The driver's side head airbag did fail. I'm sure it will get more safety updates if it comes to the U.S. market.

It had no airbags in the rear

Many cars don't have airbags in the rear except for the curtain airbags which extend to the rear passengers..
