The CARS.gov specs are designed so vehicles like the Camero which get 22mpg or better combined are still eligible to be on the buying end of the C4C program.
Why the comment, Godfather? I bought a Smart because there's nothing close to it manufactered in the US. I would really love to see US manufacturing survive. I'd also really love to see the US companies produce something I'd like to purchase with respect to quality and economy.
Some of us want to see improvement more quickly than others but I think we all want to see improvement, particularly with the US investment.

I'm ashamed that I can't be proud of American made cars. I truly wish we were leaders in this industry. But we are far from it. Criticizing US car makers is a very good way of sending the message that we want change. The other good method is just not buying sub-standard products. Maybe someday they'll hear us.
