Interesting article but the comments are even better; love the folks saying "it'll never work, the author just doesn't understand..." Detroit will hang onto that mantra as the lights go out in their last plant - unless somebody there wakes up and realizes they aren't in the car business, they're in the customer satisfaction business. Wouldn't hurt smart to revisit that idea as well.

This Sums up a lot of the comments.

Just because a fictitious car company on a Cartoon was destroyed by Homer Simpson’s ideas does not mean that an intelligent auto designer would be so stupid
But that doesn’t seem to stop the idea that this would be the case.

But then again I guess that's where the idea of this car came from
