This will not be a small car like the Smart. It is geared to be a family hybrid. Being a Honda is a big plus, but in the end it all depends on MPG Vs. the cars price. Glad to see Honda is being so active in this area

it's pretty pathetic only Toyota is selling lots of Hybrids, most people that buy Hybrids seem to want a hybrid specific car that everyone knows is Hybrid so they can drive around and have their car say look at me I'm better than you because I car about the environment.
I hate Hybrids.

Easy!!!!

I have a smart and a Prius and guess what I don't drive it to say I am better than anyone. I have two friends who also have the Prius and the reason they have it is because of great gas mileage. Don't hate hybrids too much because Toyota has said they plan to be 100% hybrid by 2012. I am sure with these ridiculous gas prices you will see more and more hybrids.

I don't know where you got that twisted idea from. People buy hybrids because of their mileage, which is probably one of the same reasons why people buy Smarts ;)

curt, buddy, pal....yea there are some i'm sure that think that. but they're idiots.....just like the people that buy a Bentley, Lamborghini or even a smart. hey, look at me......i got something YOU don't have...they have their own problems.

i for one want something that make me less dependent on any kind of fossil fuel, whether it be gas, diesel, whatever. a "Hybrid" is a step in that direction. a total "Electric" car would be best. unfortunately, unlike European countries where many people live near their workplace or have public transportation readily available, I DON'T. i would love to work within even walking distance or bike-riding distance, but I DON'T. i work 25 miles from my employer and with no public transportation to depend on, i'm relegated to using my vehicle. a "Hybrid", "CNG-Fuel Cell" or "Electric" vehicle is the best alternative for me. but for now (or in the next 18 months or so) i'll take my chances with the smart. but should this Honda Hybrid come out and be acceptable to ME, then i may get one of them as well and trade the Jeep.

btw, curtis, i don't OWN a blender, so don't even go there, OK? don't make me put you on my "ignore" list......

Is there some type of unwritten rule that says anything hybrid specific has to be ugly??

The HCH (Civic) Hybrid is very handsome, in my opinion. The TCH (Camry) Hybrid is a good looking large sedan. The new Honda sports car hybrid looks superb and very compelling. Times have changed!
