If the Fortwo had a bigger roof, it would have some thing similar?

Well the Bayer Polycarb roof on the Smart is the biggest roof panel to date. It would take a bit more engineering to top it and keep the strength

But the Diagonal from the door pillar to the Front pillar is cool

I can't imagine how much it would cost if you needed to replace that windshield

I can't even imagine the heat that it would generate in the car. I still say, either Cabrio, or totally solid roof. Who wants all that sun baking down on your head. Again, was a nice 80 deg day for my top down. WOOT! 5 more of them to come. Going to be a good week in Texas.

Sorry the Japanese Jazz/Fit, has a larger real glass panel. Honda has that engineering.

Smart used to use Glass on the 450's but they would occasionaly shatter without warning from stress of an earlier incident.

Smart uses a Polycarb that won't do that.

What I worry about, is over time with the sun, dirt, washing, heat and cold. The plastic Polycarb over time, breaking down, and deteriorating, hazing over, and maybe even checking. Will have to wait and see.

Mine is spiderwebbing on my early car. Actually Dave S. addressed it at the Orlando meet............I soooooo wanted to take him over to show it to him on my car as from the way he sounded, he had never actually seen it in person.
