How 'bout a 1928-style "motor wheel" (aka "Monowheel," "Monocycle"):

I suspect that fast getaways and hard braking were not child's play. I have seen film of their use in pre-WWII Germany.

Hooked-up for "fare-thee-well:"

It looks similar to the BMW C-1 that they had before.

I wouldn't be interested in the BMW C1-E at all because it is an electric gizmo.

This BMW SIMPLE, on the other hand, I would buy on the spot. Fully enclosed, actively leaning trycicle with airbags, seat belts, the height ride of an SUV, 124MPH top speed... and 120MPG. It is a personal car with the inside spaciousness of a BMW 328, where you can transport a passenger in a pinch.

0h man, I do so want one of those.

I assume these are not, and probably never will, be available to the US market?

PopSci

It is not really a one wheel motorcycle since it is really two wheels side by side.

One can see the two wheels side by side.
Even with two wheels, it is still way cool looking.
It looks like something out of a scify movie.

Now THIS is the true meaning of 'minimalist motoring'....the Peel Trident:

Yahoo! Image Detail for http://static.flickr.com/25/35968836_d708fb961d.jpg

Check out the Peel P50. One seater.....smaller than the trunk of a full size sedan.
