New 40 MPG Kia Rio 5-door

I really like Kia's new styling direction. The Rio has been neglected for years, but this redesign is very sharp for that segment. Both the 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic are rated at 40 MPG.

Put a ford oval emblem, on the front, and it could be the next Ford Falcon.

Ford Falcon? Not like my old '63!

But it would be cool if they brought back the Falcon. There was a bit of a small car war going on in the 60's. (Next up the new Corvair!)

I like the direction of the Rio.

My first car was a '62 Falcon. It was painted 2 tone Braniff blue (my dad worked for the airline). Also, had a manual choke. It was cool in that I could actually drive up to about 40 MPH just by pulling the choke out. A poor man's cruise control.
It didn't like going over 65 mph and the vacuum windshield wipers were a pain. (I had a choice; give it gas or run the wipers, so I drove through storms by pumping the pedal.)
Ah the memories!

The Falcon name, never died in Australia. The new Australian Falcon looks a lot like the Focus. Must be Ford's new across the board design theme.

In the old sixties Falcon's models, if your engine died. You could drop a used 6 cylinder engine in them, in a afternoon. Easy to work on. 200 bucks for a complete used engine, from the junk yard. Now days, a shift motor for a smart, cost 400 bucks.
