Not sure Dayton qualifies as urban but the plan is to use the car in town/suburbs with occasional runs on our local Interstate sections.

How about "none of the above". I plan on making money with it. I manufacture custom aluminum accessories, and plan on making parts for the Smart as soon as mine comes in. 1206 Baby!!!!! Can't Wait!!!!

Too bad the polling tool only has 5 selections. The 6th could been "for all purposes". Since it will be my wife's primary vehicle, she'll be using it for inner-city/secondary/interstate roads. If we do any long distance trips (over 100 miles), we'll take the big luxo-cruiser (MINI).

Poll Setup

I could have set up the poll to allow multiple choices, but that would defeat the "primary" aspect of it. We know that usage will transcend the primary at times.

And with only five choices I used only 70/30 and 30/70 (closest I could get to 1/3 and 2/3s). Myself, it will be 80 urban and 20 away from city center.

Geez, my current job has me in my home office. I am tired of getting 17 mpg, going up and down hills, stopping, going, all for shuttling kids to and from school or practice to the grocery store (costco). Then if he or I need to make a sales call or visit the office in San Diego or go to Santa Barbara, why would we want to take the family van or wagon that gets in the low 20's. Call it a single man hauler. How would I catagorize it, hmmm. Plus I live next to I-5, inner city travel is on the interstate hwy.

This will be my primary car: I work out of my car for both of my jobs, and both require quite a bit on the road. What pays the bills is my IT work for companies too small to have their own IT staff - most of my clients are in St. Paul and east-side inner-ring suburbs, but since I'm also the company Mac and Linux guy, I cover the gamut of the Twin Cities.

And since I really enjoy reffing soccer, I end up driving all over for a good game as well (most of the fields are in the suburbs - I'll have a couple in Faribault this winter, about a 90 minute drive from my home).

The Smart is my primary car. Don't ask what is happening with the others.

I am buying two trailers, a pop-up tent trailer and a cargo trailer.
Sort of, "Leave the 'Trunk' at home, take it when you need it".
You don't have to give up RV'ing because you bought a Smart.
