Saw all eletric car today but...

I am toying with the idea of replacing my smart gas engine for the electric engine that smart is using in europe.
At some point I will get a use one or something like that.

Had guy catch me at stoplight few weeks ago in a Zenn. It was all electric, boxy, and also had about a 60 mile range and top speed of 25 per the owner. He was very happy about it and said he was able to purchase it from NC dealer for $8500 with all the options except a/c.

Hybrid Technologies a short distance from me converts a Fortwo into a "Dash" which is all electric. Cost per their website is a steep $43.5K. You would have to drive a LOT of miles to justify that price for an electric Smart in my opinion.

I wonder if they convert customer cars? and.. how much for the conversion? Probably 20-25K.

This company has the electric motor/components that I am looking for but they wont sell anything to me
