Scion Xd For The Price Of A Passion

Has anyone checked out the new Scion XD that replaced the XA?? Its loaded out with all the options and is about the same price as a Passion and comes with a real 5speed trans or a auto. Drove one today since my smart has been at the dealership for 42 days now and they still cant sell cars (HOUSTON)

I looked at the xB and xD last summer when the new xB came out. I was considering picking up an xB - I like the looks, and it is damn quick with the 2.4 and 5 speed. The thin, hard interior plastics with leftover flash, cheap carpeting, floppy headliner and thin exterior steel panels sent me packing, however.

Don't expect nearly the smiles when driving the Scion. Either from outside or inside of it. I happen to have a Scion and a smart. I enjoy them both, but almost can't help smiling when driving the smart. Kind of like the difference between an appliance and a motorcycle.

Yea but I'm not talking about the XB (VAN) I talking about the new XD which replaced the XA.

The XD is a CUV. not a van

DOH! My bad....I know the model and still luv the look. My Smart as it is configured will be $12,700. The xD starts at $15,100 or so. I just have no use for a four door and Allstate says the insurance will be twice as much as my smart....go figure.

My son has the xA (an '06 the last year)

it's just nice basic transportation, he gets 35 mpg with auto in mixed driving and we got him Sirius radio which his must have. The new xD is definitely a bit more upscale as well as the new xB. As our smart will be the wife's her 'must have' was heated seats which neither Scion model offers so choice was rather simple (besides which she didn't like the new 'bulldog' look of the xD). We are always on the lookout for smaller cars with more features (heated and leather seats, navi', etc.) which is one reason why we also own the Mazda3 GT 5-door (great car except for the stock tires which are high-perf' and stink on snow, new tires on order). We're looking forward to the next gen of small cars (Fiat 500, Toyota iQ, etc.) to see if these go upscale like the smart as well. If these features don't matter to you then there are lots of small econo cars out there at prices at or below the 'pure' smart level to choose from.
